Man, I though I was getting old. Well, I guess not for a GD chatroom I'm not! My first was one of Brent's last: 7/8/90 show at Three Rivers Stadium. A hot, hot daytime concert with huge screens, gigantic skeletons that appeared during Estimated. The whole experience totally blew me away. The first set is a bit of a blur, but I think I really found myself during the first set closer, Let it Grow. After that it was just like one big spinning ride. Eyes -> Estimated, a post-space Wang Dang Doodle. I didn't know what the f*** was going on. What a great time that was.

I saw about 25 shows after that, including the first two Wellnick shows at Richfield, various shows from spring, summer and fall '91, and several after that, including the last show in Chicago, which honestly might have been the worst one I saw (also might have been the 4/1/95 Memphis show, which sucked pretty hard). Most of them were good though, if not great, and to some extent sound even better in retrospect. I've got to admit, I'm pleasantly surprised at how good some of these sound here on archive.org. I feared that my enjoyment of those shows might have been, um, prejudiced, by something else.
